The 2022 Asian Games (Chinese: 2022年亚洲运动会; pinyin: Èr líng èr èr nián Yàzhōu Yùndònghuì)
On behalf of the organizing committee of WCA GO Championships 2023, we are pleased and honored to invite you to the West and Central Asian GO Championships in Muscat-Oman, during the period 6th ~10th March,2023.
The West and Central Asian GO Championships will offer good opportunities to juniors & seniors to participate in Mind Sport GO.
Weiqi is a mind sport that originated from China. It has been popular since 2,500 years ago. Weiqi has been spread to the Korean Peninsula and Japan in Han Dynasty and Tang Dynasty respectively, and gradually spread to all over the world. It fully embodies the oriental way of thinking and ideological system, and is one of the major contributions China has made to the world civilisation. Weiqi made its Asian Games debut in 16th Asian Games, Guangzhou, in 2010.

The 64th European Go Congress (EGC) took place in Vatra Dornei, Romania, from July 22nd until August 7th. It brought together over 300 go-lovers from Europe and beyond. For many it was a great occasion to see each other after a long break – the last EGC was held in Brussels in 2019, and since then it has been cancelled due to the worldwide COVID pandemic.
